Best Scavenger Hunt EVER!
It was the BEST scavenger hunt that I had ever been on! It all started
on a Friday in the early afternon. I had just come out of my staff meeting and
had gotten into my car when low and behold, there was an envelope on my
windshield. As I began to read the card, it started to explain to me that I was
about to embark on a very cool scavenger hunt -- the theme of the hunt was
"Things you need for Valentine's Day."
Well, as I continued to read on, it had
lead me into my first clue, which once I had figured it out, lead me to the
school bus I work on. On the wheel of the bus, there was another envelope.
Inside that envelope, of course was another card, but there was also a piece of
some kind of puzzle. I wasn't sure what I needed it for, but I did know that I
was suppose to hold on to it. Well, my next clue lead me to a playground, then
on to a flower shop where they had roses waiting for me, but in order to get the
roses I had to ask them if they had anything for Tinkerbell:)
That one lead me
to a chocolate store where I had to tell them I was a Chocolate Lovin Mamasita
and then they brought out yummy chocolates for me -- I felt a little silly but
it sure was worth it when I got to stuff my face with all that gourmet
chocolate:)
That one then lead me to a coffee shop where they had a delicous
frappacino for me but only after I had to tell them that I was One Hot Cup --
I'm sure all these people got quite the kick out of it:) So after sipping on my
drink at this coffee shop, Kurtis shows up to deliver a GPS to me -- he tells me
that I'm going to need it for my next clue. So as I'm trying to follow this
GPS I'm realizing that I'm heading up to the rims, which is a very special place
to us, that overlooks the city.
The clue was hidden on a rock underneath
another rock, but thanks to that cool little gadget, it lead me right to it:)
Then, on to a video store where they had a movie behind the counter for me, but
of course only after I had to tell them that I was a Scrumpdidliocious
Sweetheart:)
That clue then lead me to the Hallmark store where I had to say
that I was a Bear Hugger, in which they gave me two teddy bears. This clue then
lead me back to my house -- as I opened the door, there was a trail of red rose
petals leading up my stairs into the living room where there was a big heart.
Inside the heart was another clue, which ended up taking me to a very fancy
restaurant, where Kurtis met me. At this point I had received 10 clues, which
all had puzzle pieces in them, so I figured that my hunt was over . . . but
little did I know that it was only going to get better:)
After dinner, Kurtis
gave me another clue that he said would be where dessert was. Well, this
actually brought me to his house and as I opened the door I saw another trail of
red rose petals leading into his living room with another heart. Inside the
heart of petals was a picture frame, which he said was for my puzzle. First
though, he offered me some wonderful cheesecake that he made from scratch, but I
was so excited to work on my puzzle, that I couldn't wait any longer:) So as
I'm putting together this puzzle, I realize that its a picture of us in the
shape of a heart that had words written sporadically over it of things that we
had done together. In the middle of the puzzle was a piece missing that was in
the shape of a heart. I told him that I was very careful with all the pieces so
I know that I didn't loose any. He asked if I was sure; kind of playing around
with me like he didn't know anything . . . yaa right:)
After a while he finally
told me that he did have the other piece of the puzzle and that it was hidden
somewhere in the living room. He began to tell me how thankful he was that I was
in his life and that he loved me (for the first time) and then said that the
other piece was behind me. He then reached his hand behind a pillow which was
behind my back and pulled out a small box. He opened the box and pulled out the
piece of the puzzle that I needed and on it, it said "Suzanne will you marry
me," then he pulled out a ring!!! After making sure that it was the real deal,
I wrapped my arms around him until the wee hours of the morning:) It was the
best surprise EVER . . .. a "hunt" that I'll cherish for the rest of my life!
